Shopify Themes Designed to Increase Sales

The Best Shopify Themes Will Rain Sales

What is eCommerce?

The e is electronic. Internet, digital.  Your Shopify website and every way the World Wide Web brings shoppers to it.

Commerce?  It hasn’t changed.  It’s selling products–for profit.

So, it shouldn’t be too hard to design an e-commerce website, right?

You’d think so.  But many ecommerce site owners still get it wrong.

To Hit the Target, Aim at the Target (Audience)

Who is your Shopify ecommerce site for?  You?  Impress your friends? You’re cool–so your website must be as well.

You should think your website is cool…but it’s not a tattoo design to impress your friends.  It’s an online tool that should sell.

The best Shopify themes are designed for buyers–for the website visitorIn ecommerce, a website is a salesperson.  It guides and persuades the buyer.  It doesn’t overwhelm–that’s the last thing you want to do.  Simple, clean, effective.

Don’t create an e-tattoo.  What looks cool above your rear or across your arm will turn shoppers away.  Hit the target.

UXi® Shopify Sales Themes

Target audience experience and conversions are the essence of User Experience Intelligence UXi® Shopify Templates.

These designs turn ordinary websites into sales machines.  And we’ve built thousands of ecommerce sites: we know what converts.

We also know that you can’t sit still.  Conversion rate optimization is a process, just like Shopify SEO expertise.  What works well can work better.  Shopify Marketing 360® is a process to keep you on top.

With UXi® Shopify Templates, the e means excel.

And commerce?  You’ll be reminded of what that means everyday.

Your Shopify ecommerce theme is a store and a digital salesperson.  Navigation makes it easy for buyers to find what they want.  Sales message and promotions grab attention.  Shoppers want to buy: entice them with great offers and make your cart easy to use and the sales will ring in.

Here are 10 essential design points that help create the best Shopify themes for conversions:

1.  The 2.5 Second Rule to Capture Attention

  • You’ve got 2.5 seconds to grab visitors attention and communicate that they’ve found what they’re looking for.  Put the essential information about who you are, what you sell, and why they should buy from you out front.

2.  Create Strong Calls-to-Action

  • Tell people what you want them to do–and demand that they do it.  Give them an offer they can’t refuse.  Insist that they contact you if they have any questions.  Funnel buyers to check-out.  Put contact information in front of them–everywhere on your site.  Do everything possible to get people off the fence.

3.  Create a Unique Value Proposition

  • Do you offer items people can’t get anywhere else?  Do you have superior service after the sale? The lowest prices?  Differentiate yourself with a unique value proposition.  You have to stand-out to sell online.

4.  Streamline the Conversion Process

  • Make sure featured products and best sellers stand out.  Create logical, simple product categories.  Test your check-out process to make sure it’s simple and glitch free. Offer free shipping if possible and make sure your shipping and returns policy is clear.

5.  Use Directional cues

  • Funnel eyes towards your conversion goals with arrows, stars, images, people looking towards the conversion.  Cues guide buyers through the sales process.

6.  Build Trust

  • Any perceived fear kills sales.  Highlight trust images like BBB, SSL seals, payment gateway seals, and credit card logos, particularly at checkout.  Maintain a modern, professional site with updated content–make sure it looks like someone is manning the store.

7.  Place Conversion Goals on All Pages

  • Every page on an ecommerce theme is a sales page.  With product listing ads, the individual product pages are the sales landing page.   Your call to action, cues, trust factors, and value proposition should be on every page of your Shopify theme.

8.  Location, Service, and Shipping

  • Clearly identify your business location and areas you ship to, with shipping times and options.

9.  Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

  • Even the best Shopify themes won’t sell if they’re not findable.  Create an area for SEO text on all pages, and work with a Shopify SEO expert to build your rankings.

10.  Create a User-Focused Theme

  • Remember that an ecommerce theme is about the buyer, not the seller.  You are trying to evoke a response.  Certain layouts, content, and color pallets work better with particular product lines.  Work with the best Shopify theme designers to get a site that really sells.

Find a Niche for Your Ecommerce Marketing

Marketing guru Seth Godin makes an interesting ecommerce marketing point in one of his blogs:

You can buy this from anyone, and we’re anyone…

In the ecommerce world, being “anyone” is a tough place to be.  If anyone includes Amazon, Ebay, and large local retailers like Wal-Mart, your “anyone” is going to have a difficult time competing.

Instead, Seth suggests:

You can’t get this from anyone but me.

If this is the case, you have a niche you can really exploit with online marketing.

The barriers to starting a Shopify ecommerce website are minimal.  The platform is easy to use, and in a few weeks you can have a premium design template done for you.

And with a strong search marketing plan, you can win some market share for product lines where you offer a strong value proposition on selection, pricing, customer service, etc.

But given the competitive landscape of online marketing for more commonly available product lines, perhaps the single biggest advantage you can have is to offer a unique product line–something consumers can only get from you.

Of course this has to be a product people want.  You have to research target persona/segmentation, competition in the vertical, and sales trends.  You may have to run a serious branding campaign to get your name out there.  Data analysis will be critical as you develop your online conversion strategy.

But if you can gain that audience, then you’ll truly have a niche–one of the greatest competitive advantages in online marketing.

Being “anyone” makes marketing tough.  Be the “only one”, and market share will be there for the taking.
